The Foods of the Fundy Valley food forest in Hillsborough is growing!  Located on Steeves Street on the south side of the Railway Museum, the orchard was established in the fall of 2018 with a grant from Tree Canada.  We planted two dozen trees including varieties of apples, cherries, plums and pears.  This fall, we added 8 high-bush blueberry plants, and are planning another planting day next spring before the end of the school year, so that we can involve the school kids.  Our vision for this property is a lush forest of edible fruit that members of the community can enjoy.  Thanks to Karl Kennie for spearheading and organizing this effort.  The FFV BeeWise group also installed a working beehive nearby as an educational tool, and pollinator gardens were planted by Friends of Fundy and Fundy National Park.
