Fletcher and Mary Colpitts return to the Albert County Museum on May 29 to share their expertise on beekeeping. Fletcher is a third generation beekeeper, and maintains 100 hives of his own. He works for the Department of Agriculture as the Chief Apiary Inspector. Fletcher and his wife Mary will be teaching the basics of beekeeping and giving hands-on demonstrations of how to operate a honey bee colony. They will focus on such topics as the hives, equipment, hive health and safety around bees.
There is a limit of 40 participants, and preregistration is required. The fee for the workshop is $40, non-refundable, and includes lunch and refreshments.
